The small but mighty village of Tanurza boasts some 100 inhabitants, but is considered to have had an important role to play regarding the history of settlement of this area. Due to its privileged location on a sun-drenched slope of the Rasciesa it is relatively easy to recognise the reason for it.
A witness of that period of time is the little church dedicated to the Saint Bartholomew. Despite of the fact that the most ancient documents date back to the 15th century, this church is believed to be much older. Next to the church, there is a beautiful old walnut tree, which is a protected natural monument.
