Tanurza is a small but mighty village located in the west of San Pietro at 1,166 m a.s.l
The small but nice village of Tanurza boasts some 100 inhabitants, but is said to have played an important role in the settlement history of this area. Due to its privileged location on a sun-drenched slope of the Rasciesa high alp it is relatively easy to recognise the reason for it.
A witness of that period of time is the little church dedicated to the Saint Bartholomew. Despite of the fact that the most ancient documents date back to the 15th century, this church is believed to be much older. Next to the church, there is a beautiful old walnut tree, which is a protected natural monument.
