San Pietro di Laion is located at 1,210 m a.s.l. above the road from Chiusa to Ortisei. Boasting some 400 inhabitants, San Pietro is the second largest village belonging to the municipal territory of Laion.
The largest building of the village is visible from afar: the parish church dedicated to San Pietro is typified by its red spire and the Baroque altars and is really worth a visit. Its location, 7 km away from Ortisei only, make San Pietro di Laion a convenient starting point for tours to the Dolomites. As far as hiking on site is concerned, you can enjoy hiking along the "Sentiero della Posta“ or the trail to the Rasciesa mountain.
