Ceves, in German called Tschöfas, is a little village boasting some 120 inhabitants. It belongs to the municipality of Laion and is located at the entrance of the Valgardena valley. This settlement extends at the sun-drenched southern slope and is ideal for pleasant walks across the lushly green meadows and forests.
One of the most famous hiking trails in this area is the "Sentiero della Posta“ trail to San Pietro, or the paths no. 34 and 35, taking from the cosy Ramitzler Schwaige mountain hut (1,800 m) to the Rasciesa mountain (2,270 m).
Another sight in the village is the gorgeous S. Giacomo church, the façade of which is adorned by a sundial.
