Val Gardena Guest Pass

Free and unlimited mobility in Val Gardena and all of South Tyrol – with just one pass!

Imagine arriving in Val Gardena and being able to move between Ortisei, S. Cristina, Selva, and the Sella and Gardena passes, or even exploring the neighbouring valleys and towns of South Tyrol, without having to think about the bus or train ticket every time. And without even having to pay for it. Sounds fantastic, right? This is exactly what the Val Gardena Guest Pass offers you: unlimited and free use of the South Tyrol Integrated Transport network.

What is the Val Gardena Guest Pass?

It's the digital guest card you receive for free if you stay in one of the many partner accommodations in Val Gardena (hotels, B&Bs, apartments...). You will receive it at check-in, or sometimes even earlier via email. It's not an optional extra, it's a welcome gift to make your holiday more convenient and sustainable!

If the accommodation you have chosen does not offer the Val Gardena Guest Pass, you can always purchase the Mobilcard from südtirolmobil, its paid equivalent.

What form does the Val Gardena Guest Pass take?

The pass is available in two digital formats:

  • As a digital ticket to add to your smartphone's "Wallet" (like Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, or similar apps)
  • As a PDF document, which you can show directly from your smartphone or print out in paper format

If you prefer a physical copy, you can ask your host to print the PDF at check-in.

Travel free by bus and train!

With this pass in your pocket (or on your phone), you will have unlimited access to:

  1. All daytime scheduled buses in Val Gardena: easily move from one village to another, reach the lift departure points, or return to base after a hike.
  2. Means of the South Tyrol Integrated Transport network: urban, extra-urban and city buses; regional trains, trains in Val Pusteria and Val Venosta; the Mendola funicular, the Renon narrow-gauge railway and the cable cars to Renon, Verano, Meltina and Maranza. Perfect for a trip to Bolzano, Bressanone or Merano!

How does it work? It's very easy!

  • Validity: the pass is active from the first to the last day of your stay, 24 hours a day. You can also use it to arrive in Val Gardena by public transport on your check-in day and to return home on your check-out day!
  • Use: on every journey, scan the QR code of your pass on the readers present on the buses or in the train stations, before boarding the train. A "beep" and you're all set!
  • Children: little explorers under 6 years old travel free without a pass. From 6 years upwards, they receive their own personal Guest Pass.

Attention: Val Gardena Guest Pass ≠ Gardena Card

It's important not to confuse the Val Gardena Guest Pass (free, for public transport) with the Gardena Card. The latter is a paid card, purchasable separately, which gives unlimited access to numerous lift facilities in Val Gardena for 3 or 6 consecutive days. They are two different but complementary tools for a perfect car-free holiday!

What is NOT included in the Val Gardena Guest Pass:

  • Excluded bus lines: the Nightliner service in Val Gardena and the winter Monte Pana/Saltria connection (line 12) are not included and require a separate ticket. Also excluded are the Alpe di Siusi Express (10), Almbus Compaccio-Saltria (11) lines, and the tourist lines in Alta Pusteria to Braies (439), Val Fiscalina (442), and Rifugio Auronzo/Tre Cime (444).
  • High-speed trains: no long-distance trains such as IC, EC, Frecciarossa, Italo.
  • Bicycles: due to space limitations, carrying bikes on Val Gardena's scheduled buses is not permitted.
  • Four-legged friends: bringing a dog usually requires an additional ticket (unless it is a guide dog or a small animal held in your arms/carrier). A muzzle is mandatory, except for small dogs and guide dogs for the visually impaired.

All the advantages of the Val Gardena Guest Pass

  • Savings: zero costs for most of your journeys on public transport.
  • Convenience: no stress looking for tickets or change.
  • Sustainability: leave the car parked (parking is often paid and hard to find!) and enjoy the view without polluting.
  • Freedom: explore more, spontaneously.

The Val Gardena Guest Pass is your ideal travel companion to discover Val Gardena and all of South Tyrol by public transport in a smart, convenient, and environmentally friendly way. Make sure the accommodation you have chosen provides it and get ready to travel!
