The Val Gardena Mountain Rescue Service closely cooperates with the Aiut Alpin Dolomites
The Val Gardena Mountain Rescue Service consists of only volunteers. Founded in 1954, this association cooperates closely with the helicopter rescue service Aiut Alpin Dolomites (Ladin for "Alpine rescue in the Dolomites"), founded in 1990 and made up of 17 individual Mountain Rescue Teams and several helicopters.
The association is registered in the Authorities of Social Economic Utility Registrar (Onlus) and depends on voluntary donations, financial supporters and sponsors. The headquarters are located in Pontives near Ortisei with offices for central operations, an administrative office, recreational areas, a hangar and a one roof Helipad. The Val Gardena Mountain Rescue Service intervenes in emergencies on mountain and ski slopes, supported by the Aiut Alpin Dolomites if neccesary (within 10 minute flight distance).
By paying a fee of only 40 Euros per person (60 Euros per family) you'll become a supporting member - this will cover any first aid or rescue party including any social services tickets.
