Rules and Regulations for Dog Owners

In order to be able to spend relaxing holidays with your dog in the Val Gardena valley, please notice the following information

It is obligatory to carry a duly completed EU pet passport along which you get from your veterinarian. In this document the obligatory anti-rabies inoculation - 21 days before entering the country - must appear. Puppies younger than three months must not enter Italy.

In Italy there is the mandatory use of dog leashes and you always have to take a muzzle with you. The disposal of the excrements of your four-legged friend is also your duty.

Seeing-eye dogs and small dogs are transported for free on buses, for all other dogs a ticket has to be bought. On all cable cars and chair lifts in the Val Gardena valley, dogs can board on payment. If you travel by public transfer, your companion must be kept on a lead and has to wear a muzzle.

Please check also the local regulations of the respective destination: The single municipalities have the right to have the right to determine their own rules.
