Fermeda

The 2,873 m high Big Fermeda and the Small Fermeda are important peaks of the Odle Group

The Small and Big Fermeda in the Odle Group, are popular climbing peaks in the Dolomites. The famous route on the Small Fermeda starts at the Seceda alpine pasture in the Val Gardena, where also the Fermeda mountain hut is located. The hut was built in 1937 and rebuilt in 1981, the entire alpine pasture impresses with a fantastic view on the surrounding alpine world.

From the mentioned Seceda Alp at approx. 2,480 m a.s.l., the tour proceeds across the southern wall to the summit within about 3 hours, that means a climbing distance of 300 m. Alternatively you can also start from the Raiser mountain hut or the Firenze hut, located at 2,037 m on the Cisles alpine pasture.

The mountain station of the Col Raiser Cable Car is starting point of several mountain hikes, among them also to the Big Fermeda. It lasts about one hour more than the tour to the Small Fermeda and proceeds for 650 m as climbing route across the rocks. As other high peaks of the Odle Group, these two peaks do not reach the 3,000 m level, but form with them the typical shape of the mountain group.
