Between 1,600 and 1,800 m a.s.l. south of S. Cristina and at the eastern edge of the Alpe di Siusi, the Monte Pana High Plateau (Pana Alp) is located. To the east the area borders the famous World Cup ski slope Saslong. The view stretches from the Sella until the Sassolungo Group.
The high plateau is accessible from S. Cristina via a road and by a chair lift. From the plateau, numerous hiking tours start, the high plateau itself can be reached along the path no. 30, starting in S. Cristina. At the Monte Pana you can also find a sundial done by Simon Moroder, a hotel and the mountain chapel of the architect Franz Baumann.
Winter at the Monte Pana High Plateau is characterised by cross-country skiing – in 2007 the S. Cristina Cross-Country Skiing Centre with 30 km tracks was opened – and by ski jumping on the 2006 opened ski jump. Skiers can find connections to the skiing areas of the Alpe di Siusi and the famous Sellaronda ski round.
