The well-known and centuries-old Corn Mills of Bulla in the homonymous Bulla Gorge are accessible within a 20-minutes walk from Bulla. The whole 2 km long round walk to the mills takes about 2 hours (path n° 3A).
The mills and were used to grind the locally cultivated corn. In the 1970s the milling in the gorge was completely stopped and the Droch Mill, the Zaramin Mill and the Rumanon Mill threatened to decay bit by bit. Subsequently the latter was restored in 1999.
Today, the Rumanon Mill is in good condition and still partly functional, the other two buildings are falling into decay. During a guided tour, you get a good insight into the miller's craft and into the then manner of living. Memories of old times!
